Review:

A huge thank you to the author and publishing team at harper360 for sending me a copy of this book to review!

I went into TBFH with low expectations, which sounds really bad! I wasn’t expecting it to be bad or anything; I just hadn’t read the blurb, I knew nothing of the plot, I don’t believe I’ve read anything by the author before. All i knew was it was a YA and I assumed there was going to be some form of romance! I was completely unprepared for the demons, Satans children, the archangels, and the almost thriller vibe I got when reading! Don’t let the cartoon cover fool you, this is not your average breakup story!

I adored Mica, shes fierce and she loves reading, in particular horrors (I can’t relate to that, I can’t stand that shit! Mr Boyfriend and I have a strict no horror policy, we both value our sleep too muchπŸ˜‚). The way Mica got swept along and caught up in her love story felt both real and fictional; we all get swept along when someone we find incredibly attractive takes notice of us and almost sucks us in, but as the story progressed I felt like Mica was too swept along for it to be real, and boy was I right!

I tried so hard to like Sam! But from the start I just knew there was something off about him! Rage however! I love him😍 he’s so sweet and the β€˜it’s always been you’ just makes me melt every timeπŸ₯Ή that boy deserves the world and omg he’s just so perfect for MicaπŸ₯Ή The whole found family trope is so strong throughout the book, you can clearly tell they all love each other like family from the way the treat and look after each other!

I loved how Ann incorporated bible scripture (not in the β€˜you must believe in god way’, in the cool like I’m retelling the story of a cool saint dude way you know?), I’ll admit I am not a particularly religious person, but this almost retelling definitely reminded me why I adore fallen angel and demon romance. There’s something about a tall guy with wings who’s potentially morally grey and would definitely kill for me that I just can’t help myself… the irony is Mr Boyfriend being a golden retrieverπŸ₯Ή

This fast flowing YA was binge readable and being kept in the dark had me on the edge of my seat, figuratively, my posture is way to bad to literally sit on the edge of my seat for more than 5 minutes (the inability to sit still does not help eitherπŸ˜‚).

For lovers of:

- YA

- Angels

- Demons

- Sword fights

- Found family

- It’s always been you

- Love triangle (it’s teeny tiny I promise!)
